Overview
NearBus is a Singapore bus arrival app that shows real-time bus arrival times using the Land Transport Authority (LTA) DataMall API. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data we collect
Location data - NearBus requests access to your device's location to show bus stops near you. Location is accessed only while the app is in use (foreground only). We do not collect, store, or transmit your location to any server.
Saved stops - Bus stops you save as favourites are stored locally on your device using device storage. This data never leaves your device.
Bus stop data - A list of Singapore bus stops is downloaded from LTA DataMall and cached locally on your device for faster performance. This data is public and contains no personal information.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information. We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. We do not serve targeted advertisements based on personal data.
Third party services
LTA DataMall - Bus arrival times are fetched from the Land Transport Authority's public DataMall API. Your bus stop queries are sent to LTA's servers. Please refer to LTA's privacy policy for details on how they handle API requests.
Google Maps - NearBus uses Google Maps to display a map snippet showing your nearby area. Google Maps may collect usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Data retention
All data stored by NearBus (saved stops, cached bus stop list) remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. We have no access to this data.
Children's privacy
NearBus does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date below.
